Spencer Creek Animal Hospital’s state-of-the-art in-house laboratory from Idexx provides us with the ability to diagnose problems and initiate treatment on your pet much faster than ever before. We can run a complete blood count (CBC), which measures the quantity and quality of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets in less than 10 minutes. A CBC can help determine many things about your pet, including whether he or she is dehydrated, anemic (having inadequate numbers of red blood cells), or dealing with an infection.

We also can perform vital organ blood testing (kidneys, liver, thyroid, electrolytes, blood protein, blood sugar, pancreatic function) in our in-house laboratory within minutes. Having quick access to accurate in-house diagnostic test results can help our veterinary care team serve your pet’s needs by expanding the testing options available to all our patients. With these capabilities, pre-anesthetic blood work screening is completed quickly and efficiently prior to any type of surgery.

Heartworm, feline leukemia, and feline immunodeficiency virus tests and fecal flotation testing can all be completed while you wait. We will have the results to you within 10 minutes.

In addition, complete urine analysis, fecal cytology, ear cytology, skin scrapings, giardia (a stool parasite), and parvovirus tests, as well as fine-needle aspirates/cytology are completed in our in-house laboratory.
